2018 Volkswagen Jetta - Cardinale VW a Monterey VW Dealer

The 2018 Volkswagen Jetta is a compact sedan that’s reliable and spacious. In fact, the Jetta has more interior space than some midsize sedans. Its quiet cabin and powerful turbocharged engines make it a favorite at the Monterey Volkswagen dealer, as well as at dealerships throughout the country.

Two new trim levels make their appearance for 2018. The Wolfsburg Edition gets its name from Volkswagen’s hometown in Germany. The SE Sport is making waves with its 170-horsepower engine. All models get some minor changes this year, including styling tweaks such as a modified grille (on most models) and new wheels. Gone are the HID headlights that were added to the 2017 Jetta SEL, and the manual transmission is no longer standard on the GLI. Additionally, Volkswagen has doubled its warranty for 2018. The Jetta now includes a 6-year, 72,000-mile comprehensive warranty.

Owners love the 2018 Volkswagen Jetta, but you may be wondering what the reviewers think about the model. The reviews are favorable, with Kelley Blue Book declaring: "From behind the wheel the new 2018 Jetta feels small and agile, but also solid and strong. We appreciate the Jetta's responsive steering, and its suspension provides a taut but compliant ride, both in the city and out on the highway."

Six Trim Levels For Monterey VW Drivers To Choose From

Six trim levels are now available: S, Wolfsburg Edition, SE, SE Sport, SEL, and GLI. Jetta S, Wolfsburg Edition and SE models are powered by a standard 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 150 hp and 184 lb.-ft. of torque. SE Sport and SEL models get a 1.8-liter four-cylinder that makes 170 hp and 184 lb.-ft. of torque. Finally, the GLI has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 210 hp and 207 lb.-ft. of torque. The S, Wolfsburg Edition and SE models get a standard five-speed manual transmission, or an available six-speed automatic that’s standard on the Sport and SEL models. The Jetta GLI has a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Inside, you’ll find a full 15.5 cubic feet of trunk space. The clean look and feel of the interior get cues from an Audi luxury car. An adjustable armrest located between the passenger and driver is standard on all trims other than the base S, and there’s handy one-touch power that operates all the windows. The seats are upholstered in V-Tex Leatherette, and all models come with a user-friendly audio system with a touchscreen.

On the outside, in addition to the new chrome grille found on most models, the Jetta SE gets a new black grille. There are also new wheel designs and badging. These new styling touches add a bit of a modern look but they don’t radically change the Jetta’s refined appearance.

Standard safety gear for the 2018 Jetta includes antilock disc brakes, a host of airbags, active front head restraints, traction and stability control and a rearview camera. Advanced safety features like blind-spot-monitoring are available on the upper trims.
