Seaside Volkswagen Shoppers Visit Area Car Dealers To Get A Look At The 2019 VW Beetle

Perhaps no vehicle deserves the moniker “iconic” more than the Volkswagen Beetle. The model had a good run after Volkswagen resurrected it in the late ‘90s, but the German automaker has announced production will end this year. If you love this peppy little four-seat, two-door hatchback, you’ll want to snap one up at dealers like the Seaside VW dealerships while you still can.

There are a number of new features for 2019, including standard rear cross-traffic alert and blind spot warning. The base S trim gets body-colored door handles, body-colored side mirrors with built-in turn signals, and body-colored side sills with chrome trim. The Beetle SE and SEL Final Edition models come with alloy wheels (17-inch for the SE, 18-inch for the SEL) and exclusive interior and exterior trim. The SEL Final Edition gets LED running lights and taillights, as well as bi-xenon headlights.

Choice Of Trim Levels

Buyers can get the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle in four trim levels at the VW dealership near Seaside and dealerships throughout the United States: S, SE, Final Edition SE and Final Edition SEL. There’s also a convertible model that’s not reviewed here. All models employ a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 174 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, paired to a six-speed automatic gearbox. This engine returns a nice EPA-estimated rating of 26 mpg city/33 mpg highway.*

Automotive Review Praise

Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com enjoyed the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle, writing: “Just like Goldie Hawn’s character in the 1978 movie “Foul Play,” we were touring the California coast in a Beetle. Well, it wasn’t exactly the same, as our jaunt took us seaside in Southern California instead of further north, and the weather was rainy and gray. But we still had the pleasure of experiencing the charm and likability of the Volkswagen Beetle.”
