The 2022 Volkswagen Arteon is a beautiful coupe-like midsize sedan that excites buyers at the Volkswagen dealership near Santa Cruz. They love the Arteon’s attractive exterior styling, roomy back seat, huge cargo hold, and refined handling. Unlike some competitors, the 2022 Arteon is available with all-wheel drive. The Arteon also comes with a wide array of current technology features. Buyers looking for an upscale car that’s sophisticated and versatile should place the 2022 VW Arteon at the top of their shopping list.
The automotive media give the 2022 Volkswagen Arteon high marks. Edmunds.com writes:
“Volkswagen has doubled down on its flagship sedan, the Arteon, this year with a thorough styling refresh and the installation of a new infotainment system. It offers style and a driving experience not found in the Passat, as well as enough premium equipment to put it in close competition with some BMWs and Audis. And thanks to its sedan/hatchback body style, the Arteon has a cavernous cargo capacity.”
The 2022 Volkswagen Arteon is offered in three trim levels: SE, SEL R-Line and SEL Premium R-Line. All models employ a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that develops 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The SE and SEL R-Line trims get standard front-wheel drive, while the SEL Premium R-Line comes with all-wheel drive. The SEL R-Line gets available all-wheel drive. EPA-estimated fuel economy stands at 22 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.*
Standard features for the entry-level SE trim include 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, adaptive suspension dampers, keyless entry and ignition, simulated leather upholstery, heated front seats, tri-zone climate control and a digital instrument panel. The infotainment system features an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker stereo system, HD Radio, SiriusXM radio, navigation, a Wi-Fi hot spot and two USB-C ports.
Standard safety features for the Arteon include automatic post-collision braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, automatic emergency braking, and rain-sensing wipers.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety hasn’t reviewed the 2022 Volkswagen Arteon as of this writing. However, last year’s model was named a Top Safety Pick, with the highest rating of Good in all crash tests. We expect the 2022 Arteon to receive the same results.
