Car trouble is one of life’s most inconvenient frustrations. It always seems to strike when you need it least; you’re in a rush to get to work, or halfway through a  road trip, and suddenly you see smoke from the hood. These occurrences can be prevented by regular car checks and maintenance repairs.

Even minor care concerns should be brought to a mechanic’s attention immediately. This could mean minor engine troubles, brake concerns, or even something as minute as AC malfunction. Recognizing them early can help in avoiding any serious problems and expensive car repairs in the future.

Think of your engine as the heart of your car; without it, you’re car will have a hard time running. Checking your brakes should also be part of your routine car maintenance. Dirty brake pads can cause the brakes to squeak, and overused brake pads can become a safety hazard. Having a good mechanic is key to brake safety, as well as having your brakes checked often. A functioning AC provides daily comfort from the heat outside. If your auto AC is either too cold or not cold enough, then it is time to bring your car to the Cardinale auto service department to have it checked.

With any form of car trouble, time is of the escence. By bringing your vehicle in for routine check-ups you will be able to prevent any major damage to your car. Cardinale VW 4 shutterstock_245890534

Expected to arrive to America this fall is the updated Golf All-Road wagon a classic hatchback with AWD. Volkswagen enthusiasts everywhere are excited for the release of the new midsize, spacious Golf. However, this isn’t the only midsize sedan that Volkswagen plans to release this upcoming season.

In the age of endless four-door midsize sedan options, Volkswagen will instead be releasing a new and innovative generation of Passat. This new model will have plenty of new features including a more spacious interior and cost-effective pricing, making it ideal for families or those consumers who prefer a little more wiggle room.

First introduced to America in 2011, the Volkswagen Passat initially offered consumers both the option for a more roomy interior and a massive trunk space, as well as a sturdy and stylish frame. By the eighth generation, the Passat design evolved into a more advanced luxury vehicle, featuring laser-guided cruise control, park assist, blind spot monitoring, and emergency braking. Additionally, for consumers who are less interested in practical elements, a Fender audio system and a large navigation screen are now featured in the interior.

Innovations aside, the Passat’s traditional Volkswagen stylistic elements remain untouched. This means consumers can still expect to see a large trunk space, power steering, and a push-button ignition.

With all of these new and exciting features paired with the classic look and efficient design, the new Passat is worth considering for your next midsize sedan. Visit Cardinale Volkswagen today to test drive one of these excellent cars, and to learn more about all of the new and innovative products that Volkswagen has to offer.

Taking A Look At The All New Volkswagen Tiguan XL

Friday, August 26th, 2016

Tiguan XL

Spy photographs have revealed the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan XL without camouflage and it looks exactly as many experts had predicted. The car is longer than the regular Tiguan and is a comfortable seven-seater with a smooth ride.

The longer rear and the extended wheel base are to make room for an additional row of seats and a quarter window. Everything else remains similar to that of the regular Tiguan. Under the hood, the XL is rumored to offer the same options as the Tiguan with a TSI gasoline engine and a TDI diesel engine. Both of these are turbo-charged and offer reliable performance. It rides on the MQB A2 platform, similar to the MK7 Golf and the Skoda Octavia. The same chassis is expected to be present in the upcoming Audi A3, Seat Ateca and many more models.

While the car was initially set to be released only in China, the new spy shots give experts the belief that the car will also be released in Europe and the US. The Tiguan XL is set to bring some competition to the Skoda Kodiaq, which is also a seven-seater. Volkswagen also suggest that they might release a 5-seater coupe to compete with the Mazda CX-5 coupe version. All in all, some major changes are expected in Volkswagen’s SUV lineup.

You can take a look at current Volkswagen models at Cardinale Volkswagen in California.

Volkswagen To Change The Way It Names Its SUV Line

Wednesday, August 24th, 2016

Tiguan Off Road

German engineered car giants, Volkswagen, have announced that they have plans to release a new SUV in the US. The name of the SUV is set to be decided by the domestic marketing team. The rest of the world will have a separate name for the SUV.

Volkswagen North America CEO, Hinrich Woebcken has announced that the name for the car in the US will be easier to pronounce and will breakaway from the tradition of all their SUV names starting with a “T”. He also clarified that he wants the car to be named in a “bullish” American style.

The changes are part of Volkswagen America’s new direction and is aimed at targeting their demographic better. Another major sign of things to come in North America is the moving of all the  engineering, purchasing, product development, marketing, sales and manufacturing to the US. This a bold move that has never been done before as most other companies focus on global expansion.

As far as the new SUV is concerned, it is expected to start manufacturing later in 2016 at the Chattanooga plant in Tennessee. With this new strategy, Volkswagen will likely split its divisions in North America and let the market division be independently handled, The rest of the world, is set to keep the naming tradition intact, with the new release.

Drive down to Cardinale Volkswagen in California to experience the brilliance of their cars for yourself.

Volkswagen Sales Remain Stable For 2016 Thus Far

Monday, August 22nd, 2016

Cardinale VW 2_NewSlogan

Despite their scandals in various parts of the world, Volkswagen’s sales remain to be close to the same level as last year. With 3,374,000 models being sold in the first 7 months of 2016, the manufacturer has managed to stay in touch with previous year’s sales of 3,403,200.

Europe, Western Europe and USA saw the most decline in sales, especially in Germany, Brazil and North America. However, these were canceled out with the increased sales in the Asia-Pacific region, especially China. With 1, 601,900 models sold from Jan-July in China, there is an 8.5% rise in sales over the last year. Central and Eastern Europe also had increased sales of 126,400 compared to 118,100 last year.

The car manufacturers have tackled emission allegations differently in different countries but it seems to have made a lasting impact in North America where the sales dropped 5.0%. Compared to last year’s sale of 343,600 cars, only 326,500 have been sold this year.

Although the company has faced some significant obstacles and have lacked in their goal achievements, there is still hope. Throughout the year, there has been an insignificant drop of only 0.9% worldwide. This gives the German car giants the opportunity to level up with last year’s sales by the end of the current year and put their issues behind them in 2017.

No matter what you have to say about the company, you can’t argue that they produce some of the most stunning, dependable cars out there. To test these models, head on over to Cardinale Volkswagen.

Volkswagen Celebrates 50 Years Of Formula Vee

Wednesday, August 17th, 2016

Formula Vee

When Volkswagen dealer Hubert L. Brundage saw the impact of the Formula Junior races, he had a brainwave., he thought that a Volkswagen-based model would be ideal for the race. For this purpose, in 1959 he contacted an Italian car race car designer named Enrico Nardi. The two came up with a plan to construct a formula car using the Beetle’s parts and mechanicals.

At the heart of this new model would be the Beetle’s 1.2 liter air cooled engine, while the racer would make use of the production car’s suspensions, gears and brakes. This new car was not really the most successful in the Formula Junior series. However, it did become one of the first cars of Volkswagen to be entirely for racing. In addition, the utilization of an already existing model’s parts to reate a new race car series seemed very good and from there on began Volkswagen’s journey with

racing.

The actual full-fledged construction of proper race cars began under the guidance of George M. Smith and Bill Duckworth in 1961 who founded the Formcar Constructors which began manufacturing the Formula Vees. These new models were designed entirely from VW mechanicals, and based on Brundage and Nardi’s aluminium make. And as for what followed, that is something we all know.

Volkswagen’s Half Century Celebration Of Formula Vee

Monday, August 15th, 2016

Formula Vee

Volkswagen has, yet again, another reason to celebrate!

The much-loved company is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its Formula Vee series. On the 11th of July, 1966, the “Verband Formel V Europa e. V.” was founded by a group of traders and car-importers based in Munich who shared an interest common to all in motor racing.

While a number of car racing events have come and gone, only Volkswagen’s Formula Vee has endured the test of time due its ethical and non-compromising stand on fairness and rules. As such, formula Vee is well-known for its honest, clean and transparent way of functioning where you win only by your talent and not budget. The integrity with which Volkswagen conducts its events is very much praised and applauded and is evident in the fact that it has now reached its 50th year.

Though the founding of the Verband Formel V Europa e. V. is cited as the official birth of the Formula Vee, the roots of the event go back to the US of the 50s, when the Sports Car Club of America started he Formula Junior. This club had rules in place that limited the amount of fuel wasted to 1.2 liter displacement. The aim of the club was to keep racing very affordable so that everyone could take part in it. Read on more in Part 2.

Join in the celebrations with Volkswagen by becoming a member of the family! Visit Cardinale Volkswagen at Salinas California for more details, test-drives and bookings.
