Volkswagen has debuted its first electric vehicle this month at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. This new vehicle is said to have a greater range and lower price than its competition. The car is rumored to be reaching dealerships by 2020.

The new vehicle is about the same size as the #VolkswagenGolf. The car is designed with Volkswagen’s new electric platform, and it will have a 167 horsepower motor that will allow it to drive between 250 and 373 miles on one charge. New technology has also been used in this vehicle to speed up the charging time. The vehicle will be able to be charged up to 80 percent in just 15 minutes. The car will cost less than $30,000, which is much less than the Tesla 3.

Volkswagen has said they will release several new vehicles by 2025 and will fully integrate automated technology by this time. The new vehicle line will include an electric sedan, SUV, sports car and a production version of their most recent concept vehicles. Volkswagen is determined to sell one million electric cars globally by 2025.

Volkswagen Has Increased Growth for September

Wednesday, October 26th, 2016

shutterstock_252548944

Volkswagen’s sales rose 7.1 percent for the month of September. This is the largest monthly gain the company has seen in two and a half years. This increase is due to an increase in demand for Volkswagen vehicles in China, as well as strong sales in Europe.

Volkswagen saw registrations of their new cars increase to 947,600 passenger vehicles, heavy trucks and commercial vehicles. This number has significantly increased from the 888,200 vehicles a year earlier. This jump in growth is the largest monthly increase since April 2014. That month the company recorded an 8.2 percent gain. Volkswagen stated that they are optimistic that they will be able to overcome challenges in the future.

The company reported that the sales were significantly helped by a 20 percent growth in China. #Volkswagen also saw growth in Europe, their home region. They sell about 40 percent of their product in Europe. The 6.3 percent gain is reportedly their second biggest monthly gain for 2016.

These increases show Volkswagen’s dedication to create quality products for their consumers. If you are looking to purchase a new Volkswagen, we hope you will visit us at Cardinale Volkswagen. Volkswagen to Use Liquefied Natural Gas Ships

Tuesday, October 25th, 2016

shutterstock_319834493

In an effort to make shipping their vehicles cleaner, Volkswagen plans to use two liquefied natural gas-powered car carriers to transport their vehicles from Europe to North America. They will be put into use from 2019 onward. These ships will replaced a pair of conventionally-run ships that were used exclusively for transporting vehicles.

Liquefied natural gas ships cut the production of CO2 by 25 percent. These ships also decrease the output of NOx by 30 percent and particulate matters by 60 percent. They also eliminate the output of sulfur oxide by nearly 100 percent. The two carriers Volkswagen is planning to use will be able to carry 4,500 vehicles each. Volkswagen sold 606,084 vehicles in 2015. This means these new ships would need to make at least 134 round trips each year to supply dealerships in Mexico, the United States and Canada with the vehicles they sold last year.

This is an impressive move made by #Volkswagen to help improve their global footprint. These new ships will carry the new vehicles the company has been working tirelessly to create. If you are interested in looking at a new Volkswagen, come see us down at Cardinale Volkswagen. We have lots of vehicles to choose from and a staff that is ready to help. Volkswagen Shares Electric Vision

Monday, October 24th, 2016

shutterstock_326797595 (1)

Volkswagen has currently been focusing on the electrification of their vehicles. The company showed their latest I.D. concept car at the Paris Auto Show. There they explained the vision they had for their company.

#Volkswagen hopes to be the leader in electric mobility. They want to be the first automotive company to produce over one million electric vehicles. They are working to construct high quality solutions like the I.D. concept car. They believe that it solves lots of the issues that many electric cars have today. Volkswagen stated that the battery cost has been significantly improved. They also believe that the charging grid will improve to relieve anxiety. This would also decrease the price of the vehicles they produce. Once these items are improved, the company will be able to meet the demand. The hope to shift consumers’ views of electric cars from being driven by regulations to being driven by demand.

The MEB platform is a modular concept for electric cars. The platform allows the modular concept to be used on small cars like the I.D. concept or cars like the Passat or Tiguan. They believe this will be the new way to build electric cars. This concept plus the improvement of materials will surely prove to be successful for Volkswagen

This development of new technology has pushed Volkswagen to create even better, more advanced cars. If you are interested in looking at a new Volkswagen, visit us at Cardinale Volkswagen. For more information about what we have to offer, check out our website.

Tips For Keeping Your Car Like New

Thursday, October 20th, 2016

Vw Logo

If you own a car, there are going to be maintenance checks and repairs. There are a few things you can watch to keep your car in peak condition. This will save you money and keep you safe.

The air pressure in your tires needs to be checked at least once a month and before any long trips. Always check the pressure when the tires are cold, before the car has been driven. Make sure the tires are at the pressure that is recommended by the manufacturer, not the maximum limit that has been embossed on the tire’s sidewall. Newer cars have tire pressure monitors that will give you an accurate reading for your tires. You can also purchase an inexpensive tire pressure monitor to keep in your glove box to test the pressure of your tires. This will insure your tires will wear evenly and can extend the life of your tires.

Check the engine oil of your car once a month to insure it is in good condition. Checking your oil is easy, and you can potentially catch a leak or other issues. After a certain amount of time, your oil will need to be changed. Your owner’s manual will tell you the amount of miles that should be driven before you change the oil. The oil in your car is used to lubricate parts of your engine. If you don’t change the oil at the right time, your oil will begin to thicken and clog the engine. The oil will not be able to get to the parts it needs to reach, and will cause the parts of vehicle to wear out faster than they should. This leads to costly repairs. Checking the oil regularly can help you avoid all of these issues.

These simple steps can keep your car looking and running like new. At Cardinale Volkswagen, we have an excellent service department that can keep your car running good as new! Even if you don’t drive a #Volkswagen, we would love to help you with all of your service needs. For more information about the services we have to offer, check out our website at www.cardinalevw.com.

Volkswagen Steps Forward In Trucking Industry

Wednesday, October 19th, 2016

shutterstock_319032212

Volkswagen is plans to take a 19.9% stake in U.S. truck company Navistar International Corp. This decision is a strategic move that allows #Volkswagen their first foothold into the United States’ heavy truck market. This decision is part of Volkswagen’s plan to become a global force in the world of commercial vehicles.

Volkswagen will pay $16 per share for their stake in Navistar. This new stake will allow the company two seats on Navistar’s board. The two companies have been in discussion since 2015 and have recently agreed to work together to develop and purchase new products.

The acquisition of this stake is a big step for #Volkswagen’s truck and bus division. This division earned $38.5 billion in revenue in 2015 before interest and taxes. Volkswagen’s goal is to build a global truck business, but they have struggled to enter the United States market until now. They aim to challenge Volvo and Daimler AG. The partnership with Navistar will give #Volkswagen access to the company’s contacts, helping them grow their business in the United States.

This new development will make a big impact on Volkswagen’s influence in the United States. If you are interested in a new Volkswagen, visit us at Cardinale Volkswagen. We have lots of great options and would love to help you find your next new vehicle. For more information about our current inventory, check out our website at www.cardinalevw.com.

Volkswagen Aims to Increase Car Connectivity

Wednesday, October 12th, 2016

Vw logo 5

Volkswagen has decided to enhance their vehicles’ connectivity abilities. They plan to update their Car-Net system, which is currently standard on most of their vehicles sold in the United States. They believe digitizing their vehicles is their next step. Volkswagen recently stated that most of their upcoming releases will be electronic or software related. They stated that they are changing from being solely a car manufacturer to a mobility and service provider. Volkswagen says their sales will significantly increase in the next few years due to this new update and focus.

Volkswagen’s #BUDD-e van shown in Las Vegas earlier this year shows their new vision. They see services like Netflix for the back seat entertainment system and improved parking assistance on the list of future upgrades. They also believe that vehicles will one day become payment devices. Though these technologies are not yet available, Volkswagen has taken the first step by improving Car-Net and adding Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. MirrorLink allows drivers to have more access to apps from their smartphone devices.

These new updates show a lot of promise for Volkswagen. If you are interested in purchasing a new Volkswagen, visit us at Cardinale Volkswagen. We have lots of options and a great staff ready to help you with anything you need. For more information about the cars currently in our inventory, check out our website at www.cardinalevw.com.
