Volkswagen Re-Evaluates Diesel Models

Thursday, September 29th, 2016

shutterstock_319837961

Volkswagen may stop selling diesel vehicles in the United States. The recent crack down on emissions standards has caused Volkwagen to consider pulling their diesel cars off the United States market. The company would focus on creating more gasoline cars, as well as electric and hybrid vehicles. The sales of the company’s non-diesel cars have been strong, but they have lost a share in the United States market because they depend on diesel. Volkswagen executives said they would evaluate each situation to determine their final decision.

Volkswagen is still working to fix their diesel models that have already been sold. The company is working hard to meet the strict standards in the United States. If Volkswagen continues its sales of diesel model vehicles, it could mark the beginning of the end for diesel vehicles. Volkswagen is one of the only car manufacturers to sell a diesel-run model that isn’t a truck. They were one of the pioneers to make these cars popular in the United States.

Volkswagen hasn’t made any decisions regarding the discontinuation of their diesel models, but they are continuing to evaluate their best options. If you are interested in purchasing a new Volkswagen, visit us at Cardinale Volkswagen. We have lots of great options for you to choose your next car. shutterstock_159902675Vw Logo

Volkswagen has recently partnered with cybersecurity experts to create a new organization that is committed to vehicle security. The new company is called Cymotive. The company is led by three Israeli cybersecurity experts that will create new technology to increase safety on connected cars. The company will be based in Israel and Germany. Details about the ownership of the company have not been released.

Volkswagen recognizes the need for new security measures as our vehicles become more technology focused with things like driving aids and advanced infotainment systems. Cars have several potential areas they can be attacked digitally. This opens a whole new area which vehicle manufacturers will focus on to create more secure cars. Some car attackers have been cloning key fobs to gain access to vehicles. Volkswagen hopes to innovate new technology and systems that will prevent any security breaches and better protect the vehicles they create.

As Volkswagen researches ways to better the security of their vehicles, they continue to create high quality cars that their customers love. Volkswagen Assembling Vehicles in Kenya

Thursday, September 22nd, 2016

VW Cars Earn Best Top Safety Picks in 2016

Volkswagen signed a deal to utilize the Kenya Vehicle Manufacturers in Thinka to begin to assemble vehicles. The first vehicle Volkswagen plans to assemble at the new location is the Volkswagen Vivo. The first model assembled is expected to be completed by December of 2016.

The plant is said to expand into an assembly operation to produce a full range of vehicle models. Kenya Vehicle Manufacturers expressed their excitement to partner with Volkswagen. Volkswagen previously operated in Kenya during the 1960s and 1970s assembling the Volkswagen Vans and microbuses. Kenya hopes Volkswagen’s return to the country will boost the economy and create new jobs for locals.

This new partnership is part of Volkswagen’s effort to grow in Africa, and see their production and sales increase overall. Volkswagen is thankful for this new opportunity and are eager to begin their operations. This new development could help Volkswagen expand their business in the region.

As Volkswagen partners with new organizations, they continue to engineer quality vehicles and cement their places as the largest car manufacturer in the world. If you are interested in purchasing a new Volkswagen or just want to take a look at your options, visit us at Cardinale Volkswagen. For a full list of our inventory, check out our website.

Volkswagen Partnering with Navistar

Wednesday, September 21st, 2016

Vw Logo

Volkswagen recently announced their partnership with Navistar. Navistar is a large Illinois-based trucking company. Navistar owns International Trucks and manufactures school busses and large-scale engines. This new partnership is a $256 million technology and purchasing deal. It gives Volkswagen a 16.6 percent stake in the company.

Volkswagen has high hopes for this partnership. They believe it will give them the opportunity to grow their trucking business in the United States. Volkswagen was asked if they could potentially procure the rest of Navistar or create their own trucking business from the parent company, and they said that all options are open.

Not only does Volkswagen benefit from this partnership, but Navistar also gains more stable footing after an engine approval failure. The engine lost billions of dollars and failed to gain approval from the Environmental Protection Agency. United States regulators recently announced new rules to lessen carbon emissions from large trucks. Navistar believes the new venture with Volkswagen will help them develop new technology that will meet the rules.

As Volkswagen partners with Navistar to grow their trucking industry, they continue to engineer quality vehicles that their consumers love. If you are interested in purchasing a Volkswagen, visit us at Cardinale Volkswagen. For more information about our inventory, check out our website.

Volkswagen Talking Partnership With Chinese Company For Electric Cars

Monday, September 19th, 2016

Vw logo 5

Volkswagen is currently exploring a partnership with a state-run company in China to produce electric vehicles. This is part of Volkswagen’s plan to push electric vehicle production. The company signed a document to agree to a potential partnership with China Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co. Both companies will be equal owners of the joint venture. Both companies hope to reach an official agreement in the next five months.

Volkswagen stated that they aim to be at the forefront of e-mobility and believe that this venture will benefit both companies. Volkswagen currently sells more than a third of their global sales from China. They have been operating in China for 30 years and are partnered with two local car manufactures in the country. Volkswagen hopes to sell one million electric cars a year worldwide by the year 2025. This new partnership could help Volkswagen achieve this goal.

The proposed partnership could boost Volkswagen sales, as well as innovate new technology for their electric cars, not only in China, but worldwide. Volkswagen Reveals All-Electric Vehicle

Thursday, September 15th, 2016

Vw logo 5

Volkswagen is slated to unveil its first all-electric car at the Paris Motor Show. The car will be about the same size as the Volkswagen Golf, but have plenty of space for passengers to ride comfortably. Volkswagen developed a lighter frame used to build this vehicle that allows the extra room. The car is said to launch late 2018 or the beginning of 2019. This release date is earlier than they expected when they first set a goal to produce electric vehicles by the year 2020.

Volkswagen says the best feature about this new model is the charging speed. The car is rumored to get 300 miles after a short 15 minute charge. This is impressive for this type of vehicle because in most electric vehicles, no matter the size of the battery or range of miles the vehicle can travel, the batteries take a long time to charge. The Tesla, for example, takes more than 45 minutes to fully charge.

Volkswagen aims to create a vehicle that costs less than a regular gasoline powered vehicle. They plan to produce an electric version of the Golf and Up. These vehicles will not be released until after the new electric vehicle.

While Volkswagen creates technology for their electric vehicle, you can be confident in your new Volkswagen purchase. Volkswagen Takes Lead as Largest Automaker

Wednesday, September 14th, 2016

Volkswagen 1

Volkswagen surpassed Toyota in the race for the title as the World’s Largest Automaker. Volkswagen has manufactured 50,000 more vehicles than Toyota for the year. Though Volkswagen’s numbers are currently down six percent less than average in the United States, the company is doing well in its other markets. Most of the vehicles that are produced by Volkswagen are sold in Europe and China. These countries make up 80 percent of Volkswagen’s sales. In countries like China, the government urged citizens to purchase smaller cars, resulting in an 8 percent increase of Volkswagen’s deliveries.

Volkswagen’s biggest competition, Toyota, has recently decreased the amount of vehicles they have produced in several different regions. Companies like General Motors, who was formerly the world’s largest automaker, are not even close to the coveted spot. Automotive makers still have a few months to go before the final numbers are recorded.

Volkswagen continues to produce well crafted vehicles for its customers. They work to create new technology for their machines. If you are interested in purchasing a new Volkswagen, come visit Cardinale Volkswagen! We have a huge stock of great Volkswagens for you to choose from. Volkswagen recently was seen testing their latest SUV prototype near Chattanooga, Tennessee. This new model has the ability to automatically control the brakes on each wheel while on difficult terrain. Volkswagen hopes this seven passenger vehicle will draw customers in with its incredible design.

The SUV will be produced at a plant in Tennessee near the end of 2016, and it is expected to be seen in dealerships beginning in early 2017. Volkswagen has seen growth of sales of the Tiguan compact SUV, seeing an increase of 49 percent. This new midsize SUV is expected to do well because of the increase demand for this kind of vehicle. Volkswagen believes this vehicle will meet their need for a car that caters to growing families. This SUV will have plenty of room for families that need the extra space.

Volkswagen also updated the interior additions to simplify the design. This design will be used for all of the vehicles they develop in the global market. The vehicles are well engineered and made to handle top speeds smoothly.

Volkswagen Restricts Employees from Pokemon Go

Friday, September 9th, 2016

Cardinale VW 6 shutterstock_321508679

Volkswagen recently banned employees from the new app Pokemon Go. The company believes that this app could potentially lead to a massive security breach. They recently sent out a mass email to their 70,000 employees explaining the restriction and urging them to discontinue use of the app.

The Pokemon Go app allows users to view an augmented reality that uses the GPS location of the device. This data is collected as the users look for Pokemon on a map that reflects their real surroundings. By downloading this app, users allow Pokemon Go to have access to their location data and access to their camera.

Volkswagen believes that this app could be a potential security threat. They believe this app will make them more susceptible to espionage because of the data collected from their employees’ devices. They believe the devices will accidentally share top secret information through the app. Volkswagen, along with several other companies, have banned the app for this very reason. Volkswagen does encourage their employees to have fun and use the app, but are banned from bringing devices with Pokemon Go installed onto factory grounds.

As new technology and apps like Pokemon Go become more common, companies like Volkswagen are increasing their security efforts while improving the vehicles they manufacture. If you are interested in purchasing a Volkswagen and would like to see what they have to offer, visit Cardinale Volkswagen. For more information about our inventory, visit our website!
